Happy Independence Day

independence-day.jpg

Let us preserve freedom. Let us cherish freedom. Freedom of conscience, religious freedom, the freedom of each person, each family, each people.

Pope Francis

May God continue to shed his grace on you and your family

May God the Father, who has called us to be one human family, fill our hearts with a deep longing for peace and harmony.

May the Son of God, who came to share our life and make us children of the one Father, enable us to grow in wisdom and grace before God and the human family.

and may the Holy Spirit, who is the bond of love between the Father and the Son, unite in love all nations and all members of the human family.

Prayer to be Merciful

As Vincentians, we are called to be the hands and feet of Christ here on Earth.  St Faustina's prayer is a beautiful reminder to the kindness and mercy we are called to show our fellow neighbors.

Please support the Frisco chapter of St Vincent de Paul as we carry out our mission of kindness, charity and mercy.

Prayer to be Merciful

Written by Saint Maria Faustina

"O Lord. I want to be completely transformed into Your mercy and to be Your living reflection. May the greatest of all divine attributes, that of Your unfathomable mercy, pass through my heart and soul to my neighbor.

Help me, O Lord, that my eyes may be merciful, so that I may never suspect or judge from appearances, but look for what is beautiful in my neighbors’ souls and come to their rescue.
Help me, that my ears may be merciful, so that I may give heed to my neighbors’ needs and not be indifferent to their pains and moanings.
Help me, O Lord, that my tongue may be merciful, so that I should never speak negatively of my neighbor, but have a word of comfort and forgiveness for all.
Help me, O Lord, that my hands may be merciful and filled with good deeds, so that I may do only good to my neighbors and take upon myself the more difficult and toilsome tasks.
Help me, O Lord, that my feet may be merciful, so that I may hurry to assist my neighbor, overcoming my own fatigue and weariness. My true rest is in the service of my neighbor.
Help me, O Lord, that my heart may be merciful so that I myself may feel all the sufferings of my neighbor. (...)

May Your mercy, O Lord, rest up on me" (Diary #163)
